Sheetz: 3 Cents Off Every Gallon Just for Signing Up
Every My Sheetz Rewardz member gets 3 cents off per gallon on every fill up, every day, with no points to redeem and no minimum purchase. That instant discount is the floor, not the ceiling: members also earn 5 points per dollar on store purchases, climb tiers from Fan to FREAK for deeper discounts, and can convert points into additional fuel savings. With more than 850 stores across seven states, Sheetz pairs one of the simplest fuel discounts in the industry with some of the best convenience-store food in the country.
Sheetz is also one of the early major chains to sell E15, marketed as Unleaded 88, at hundreds of its locations. If you drive a 2001 or newer gasoline vehicle, that is often the cheapest liquid at the pump. See our E15 gas guide for which cars can use it.
Sheetz Fuel and E15 Unleaded 88
Sheetz sells regular, midgrade, premium, diesel, and at many locations Unleaded 88, which is E15, a blend of 15 percent ethanol. Roughly 370 of Sheetz’s stores sold Unleaded 88 as of late 2024, and the chain has run headline promotions on it, including holiday price drops that made national news.
E15 typically prices below regular unleaded, sometimes by a wide margin during promos, and the EPA has approved it for light-duty vehicles from model year 2001 onward. It is not for motorcycles, boats, lawn equipment, or pre-2001 cars, so check your owner’s manual. On quality certification, the direct answer: Sheetz is not a TOP TIER licensed brand. Our Top Tier gas guide lists brands that are.
My Sheetz Rewardz: Instant Discount, Points, and Tiers
My Sheetz Rewardz is free through the Sheetz app. The program has three layers: an automatic fuel discount, earnable points, and status tiers.
| Layer | How it works |
|---|---|
| Instant fuel savings | 3 cents off per gallon on every fill, just for being a member |
| Points | 5 spendable points per $1 on qualifying in-store and online purchases |
| Tiers | Fan (0 to 999 points), Friend (1,000), FREAK (2,500): higher tiers unlock deeper discounts |
| Point expiration | Spendable points expire on the last day of the month they were earned in the following year |
Points are earned on most store purchases but not on fuel itself, alcohol, tobacco, lottery, car washes, gift cards, or gallon and half-gallon milk. Points can be redeemed for free food and drinks or converted into extra fuel savings on top of the automatic 3-cent discount, which is how regulars build toward a nearly free tank.
Sheetz also offers a co-branded Visa credit card whose per-gallon discount stacks with the Rewardz discount, up to a combined 10 cents per gallon under current card terms. Card terms change, so check the official card page before applying.
Finding a Sheetz Near You
Sheetz operates more than 850 stores across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Michigan. The chain is family-owned, founded in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in 1952, and famous for its MTO, made-to-order food: subs, burgers, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee, available around the clock.
Use the Sheetz app or website store finder to check which locations near you sell Unleaded 88, since not every store carries it. If you are comparing fuel costs across brands, our cheap gas strategies will help you do the math.
Sheetz’s MTO menu is the reason many customers choose the brand in the first place: subs, burgers, and breakfast sandwiches made to order around the clock give the chain a food reputation few gas stations can match.
How to Save the Most at Sheetz
Join My Sheetz Rewardz before your next fill so the 3-cent discount applies immediately, then make Sheetz your default for food and coffee: 5 points per dollar adds up fast on daily purchases, and tier climbs to Friend and FREAK unlock the deeper discounts. Activate the offers in the app’s OFFERZ tab, since Sheetz runs frequent limited-time fuel promos, sometimes 20 to 40 cents off per gallon around holidays, that require opting in.
If your car can take E15, price Unleaded 88 against regular at the same pump; during Sheetz’s promo events it is often dramatically cheaper. And remember the points expiration rule: spendable points die on the last day of the month they were earned in the following year, so redeem them rather than letting a year’s worth quietly lapse.
